![]() For the last 10 years, HACO has build up a real expertise in industrial Laser Cutting Machines and applications. To meet the evergrowing laser market and its cutting quality requirements, HACO has developed compact, high performing and reliable CNC Laser Cutting Centers. The monobloc frame structure, with built-in laser source, integrated electronic, electrical, pneumatical and mechanical compnents results in a stable and compact machine. The HACO CNC Laser Cutting Machine RAPTOR is of the ‘flying optics’ concept. This concept has many advantages: the machine’s inertia remains the same for all material thicknesses and sizes to be cut, which gives optimum controllable quality of the laser beam at the cutting head as well as its movement and accuracy. The laser beam, generated in the laser source, is led through mirrors via the Y, X and Z-axis to the focal lens in the cutting head. The capacitive sensor, which is incorporated in the cutting head, follows the material surface and guarantees the optimum working height, as set by the CNC Control. With the standard Auto Focus System, the focal point is automatically adjusted and thus kept at its optimum position in relation to the material. The CNC Control selects the programmed cutting gas and delivers it through the nozzle at the correct pressure. The selective fume extraction is fully CNC controlled and guarantees an optimum efficiency. The outlet of the (optional) fume extraction unit is completely free of dust and particles. Due to our unique way of controlling the whole process, the operator has interactive control of all programmed values, such as speed, gas pressure, laser power, … during the cutting process. The HLT-3500 is an in-house development. This HLT-3500 is a ‘Fast Axial Flow’ CO2 Laser with DC-discharge. The laser-active medium (or cavity) in a CO2-Laser is a gas mixture of CO2, He and N2. In the near-vacuum cavity, this gas mixture converts electrical energy (high voltage discharge) into laser light. The oscillation of this laser light between two or more mirrors, the so-called ‘optical resonator’, amplifies the laser light and turns it into a high-power beam. A CO2 Laser emits infrared radiation with a wavelength of 10.6 µm. The ‘fast flow’ of the laser gasses, axial to the generated laser beam and electrical discharge, is generated by a gas circulation turbine (instead of a ROOTS-pump), which also results in less laser gas and electrical consumption. Furthermore, this turbine runs oil-free, thus not affecting the gas purity in the cavity. The transistored Electrical Discharge (High Tension feed), the output mode (continuous or pulsed) and output power of the Laser Source are micro-processor controlled. The HLT-3500 has a full diagnosis software and informs the operator of its status and actual laser programme on the screen of the CNC control. ![]() The user of the HACO CNC Laser Cutting Machine RAPTOR benefits from its most important qualities: flexibility and reliability. The special design of the HLT-3500 allows flexibility in use: various materials and thicknesses can be cut. The reliability of the Laser Source and the simplicity of the control are major advantages for industrial applications. The guaranteed output power of 3000 W at the Cutting Head, satisfies virtually all industrial requirements. Haco HLT-3500 Laser ResonatorMachine conceptThe HACO CNC Laser Cutting Machine RAPTOR is of the ‘flying optics’ concept. This concept has many advantages: the machine’s inertia remains the same for all material thicknesses and sizes to be cut, which gives optimum controllable quality of the laser beam at the cutting head as well as its movement and accuracy. Furthermore, the material to be cut must not be fixed or clamped, which eases the material handling. As the material to be cut is not moving, a scratch-free machining is guaranteed, as well as the possibility to cut through less stable or thinner materials. Another advantage is that the parts to be cut can be nested in such a way that the stiffness of the remaining sheet ‘skeleton’ must not be considered (common cuts, bridge joints), thus allowing much less material waste. The laser beam, generated in the laser source, is led through mirrors via the Y, X and Z-axis to the focal lens in the cutting head. Due to our unique way of controlling the whole process, the operator has interactive control of all programmed values, such as speed, gas pressure, laser power, … during the cutting process. Monoblock frame structureThe machine is a rigid welded construction made of laser-cut steel plates and is stress relieved before machining. Mounted on the stable monobloc structure, the linear guide-ways for the X-, Y- and Z-axis guarantee very precise movements of the laser cutting head. The static structure also encloses the cutting table with scrap conveyor system, fume extraction chambers, as well as the Resonator Unit and optical way. The Cooling Unit (Chiller Unit) is separated from the machine as to eliminate vibrations on the machine frame. The compactness and rigidity of this monobloc structure guarantees an optimum stability of the laser beam. Autonomous Chiller Unit![]() The cooling unit is separated from the machine. It consists of a separate module containing the compressors, a condenser and a reservoir of cooling liquid. The cooling system works autonomously. It also contains a temperature regulator, which keeps the water temperature of the laser source and the optical way at a constant value of 20 °C. It is possible to program the cooling system separately, in order to avoid problems with frost or condensation when the machine is not in operation. Conveyor belt for scrap and small piecesThe machine frame incorporates a steel conveyor belt (situated under the cutting table) for removal of scrap and small components falling through the table grids. This belt collects scrap and small components into a container in front of the machine. ControlsState of the art: CNC Control Siemens Sinumerik 840DSpecificationsLasers characteristics
