Nitrex™ High Endurance Surface Enhancement Features and Benefits

NitrexIn November of 2000, Wilson Tool International®'s Press Brake Tooling Division introduced their latest press brake tooling innovation¤Nitrex™, a high endurance surface enhancement that extends press brake tooling life by several times that of standard tooling. Nitrex™ provides fabricators with longer lasting, more durable tooling and also substantially reduces galling.

If you frequently experience tough bending situations, Nitrex™ is your solution. Nitrex is provided as a standard on all punches and dies in the Wilson American Precision™ tooling line. In addition, it is standard on all large 1V dies and available as an option on all other punches and dies in our European Style Tooling System line. This patented process, which produces a shiny black appearance, provides a surface hardness of HRC-60. It also has lubricity characteristics that significantly lower the coefficient of friction as the material slides over the shoulder of the V-Opening on the die. Consequently, tool life is extended by several times that of ordinary untreated tooling and galling is minimized.
