Powered.
Electric drive-powered reels are made for ease of operation with innovative standard features such as our proportional control system. This top-of-the-line patented system features variable speed capability, electronic loop height adjustment and loop sensing arm range control. The standard AC to DC converter control sets rpm as a percentage of maximum speed. An internal switch automatically senses the active side of the reel. Now combined with our control module for remote loop sensing, the proportional control provides a capability for direct electronic tie-in to separate loop control equipment. Reel rpm can be set as a percentage of maximum rpm in order to more accurately control the flow of material. Reel rotation response is smoothed by the standard adjustable acceleration control. Changing rotation direction of the reel is a simple switch selection.

Non-powered.
Each of our powered reels listed in this catalog has a non-powered counterpart. The non-powered reels can be incorporated into a system and can utilize the power from other stations such as the straightener or another powered reel. All non-powered reels feature the Rapid-Air spring-loaded friction drag brake which helps prevent material overrun. This spring-loaded friction drag brake can also function as a reliable tension device on rewind applications.
